HydroWorx Named Best Places to Work in PA 2006

Middletown, PA-HydroWorx, a leading developer of aquatic therapy pools equipped with underwater treadmills, was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in PA.

The Best Places to Work program, created in 2000, is one of the first of its kind offered by a state in the country. The program is a public/private partnership of Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, and the Central Penn Business Journal.

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The Best Places to Work in PA program is made up of 100 companies split into two groups: 50 medium-sized companies (25-250 employees) and 50 large-sized companies (251 or more employees). HydroWorx has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA in the medium category.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • -Have at least 25 employees in Pennsylvania
  • -Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business
  • -Be a publicly or privately held business
  • -Have a facility in Pennsylvania
  • -Be in good standing with Commonwealth agencies under the Governor’s jurisdiction

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in PA. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. Nearly 20000 Pennsylvania employees filled out the survey. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.

HydroWorx technology combines the well-known therapeutic effects of warm water with a built-in, underwater treadmill that allows patients to walk or run naturally just as they would on dry land. Preserving this natural range of motion during the healing process is the concept that drives the technology behind HydroWorx products.

HydroWorx aquatic therapy pools can be found in hospitals, clinics, retirement homes and professional and college athletic training rooms across the country. High profile customers include top orthopedist Dr. James Andrews, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ohio State University, University of Texas and the San Diego Padres.

HydroWorx will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in PA evening awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center. The final rankings will be revealed at the ceremony.
