No one knows this better than the women who have gone through this painful injury.
Case in point — a female soccer player at the University of Toledo who, in her sophomore year, experienced a “double whammy”. Not only did she tear her ACL, but then she suffered a stress reaction from the surgical screw that was put into place during her knee surgery.
Fortunately, she had athletic training rehab options that included aquatic therapy.
Gretchen Buskirk, the Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University in Ohio, used the institution’s HydroWorx pool to help the soccer player with her rehab during the pre-season. As Buskirk explains in the video below, the soccer player has enjoyed her experience with the HydroWorx pool so much that she no longer runs on a land treadmill; instead, she prefers to do her running with HydroWorx.
